Len Elmore was a former Maryland All-American and is currently an ESPN college basketball analyst.
After graduating from Maryland, Elmore was a first-round pick in both the American Basketball Association (ABA) and the NBA, where he played professional basketball for ten years. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1987 and is believed to be the first (and only) NBA player to graduate from that prestigious institution.
Currently, Len is in his sixth consecutive year as a college basketball analyst for ESPN. From 1985-91, he was a network television analyst for CBS, ESPN, and JP Sports for NBA and NCAA basketball telecasts.
Elmore is presently the President and CEO of Test University (TestU), a web-based, customized learning company specializing in curriculum development, standardized test preparation, and education assessment solutions. He also operates Pivot Productions, Inc., a New York-based media company.
In 1992, Elmore founded Precept Sports and Entertainment, Inc., a sports management and marketing company. As the company's President and CEO from 1992-96, he represented numerous NBA first round draft picks, National Football League players and several Olympic athletes. He successfully negotiated multi-million dollar professional sports contracts, endorsement and licensing agreements, as well as company-related agreements. He was a player contract advisor in good standing and certified by the NBA, NFL, and Major League Baseball.
Elmore is admitted to practice law in New York and in the U.S. District Court of Maryland. He is a noted authority on sports and sports law issues and has had numerous articles published on a variety of sports issues. He has appeared on a number of radio and television news and sports talk shows and discussion panels. He's written numerous articles and commentaries for National Public Radio, the Knight Ridder News Service, the Sports Business Journal, and other prestigious media. Elmore is also a motivational and sports issues speaker.
