Slippery Rock, Pa. - The Mercyhurst College women's cross country team traveled to Slippery Rock and placed sixth in the seven team 6K at the SRU Invitational.

Beth Kenniston paced the Lakers with a time of 24:18.3, good for 16th place.

Indiana (Pa.) won the team title with a score of 28 points. IUP's Mindy Sawtelle finished first in the 91-runner field with a time of 22:31.2. The Lakers totaled 157 points.
