PRINCETON, N.J. - Christine Somera and Carrie Willison of the Mercyhurst College women's water polo team were honored for their 2007 performances with places on the Collegiate Water Polo Association All-Western Division teams. Somera was selected to the first team, while Willison made the second team.

Somera makes her third appearance on the All-Western Division team and second straight on the first team. Her 54 goals, 23 assists and 77 points all ranked second on the team, while her 69 drawn ejections were a team-high. While just a junior, she ranks second all-time at Mercyhurst in goals (134) and assists (87) and is third in points (221).

Willison, also a junior, is making her first appearance on the All-Western Division team. She led the team with 57 goals, 46 assists and 103 points. With her point total, she became just the second player in school history to top the 100-point plateau in a season (Ann Markley did it twice). Already the school's all-time assist leader (136), she is third on the school's all-time list in goals (122) and second in points (258).

Mercyhurst finished the 2007 season sixth at the CWPA Western Division Championships after an 11-14 mark in the regular season and a 4-6 mark in the CWPA.
