LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Mercyhurst knocked off Siena in the semifinals, 8-4, before Iona got the better of a 13-11 championship match against the Lakers.

In the semifinals, Mercyhurst outscored Siena 5-2 in the second half en route to the win. Christine Somera scored three goals to lead the Lakers. Carrie Willison added a pair of goals and two assists and Christie Haibach also scored twice. Rhonda Marable assisted on a pair of scores and led the Lakers with four steals.

Gina Meiras stopped 12 shots against just four goals allowed.

In the finals, Mercyhurst held a 10-8 lead heading into the final quarter, but the Gaels scored five times in the fourth to claim a 13-11 victory and the tournament championship.

Christine Somera scored a season-high six goals in the game. She also added three steals and four drawn ejections. Carrie Willison posted six assists and five steals. Christie Haibach scored twice.

Cathi Korenich got the start in net and made nine saves.

Mercyhurst is now 10-11 on the season.

The Lakers return to action with match at Grove City on April 13.
