NORTH EAST, Pa. - Playing its third match in two days, Mercyhurst fell behind early and dropped a 14-5 final to No. 17 Michigan at home.

The Wolverines scored five times in both the first and third quarters to take control of the match.

Christine Somera scored twice and had a pair of steals. Carrie Willison had two assists and two drawn ejections. Rhonda Marable led the team with five steals.

Gina Mieras started in goal and made 13 saves. Kathi Korenich finished the match, stopping a pair of shots.

The Lakers are idle until Wednesday, when Mercyhurst hosts local rival Penn State-Behrend at 7:00 p.m. in North East, Pennsylvania.
