SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Carrie Willison scored off the opening face off, just 12 seconds into double overtime to lift Mercyhurst to a 9-8 win at Slippery Rock.

Jacqueline Phillips assisted on the winning score, the third and final of Willison's scores on the day.

Mercyhurst trailed 2-1 at the half, after Christine Somera scored the second quarter's only goal to cut a Rock lead in half. She also scored three of Mercyhurst's four goals in the third as the Lakers built a 5-4 lead going into the final period.

Both teams scored in the final minute of regulation to send the game to overtime. In the first two-period overtime, both teams scored once in each period to send the contest to sudden victory, double overtime.

Willison also had four steals and a pair of drawn ejections. Jenna Jefferds added five steals.

Gina Mieras made 11 saves.

Mercyhurst hosts No. 17 Michigan on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
