ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Carrie Willison had four goals, an assist, four steals and five drawn ejections as Mercyhurst defeated Grove City 8-4 at the Wolverine Invitational.

Christine Somera had a goal, two assists, seven steals and two drawn ejections. The goal was a historic one for Somera. It was the 100th of her career, making her just the third player in school history to reach triple figures.

Rhonda Marable also had a huge match, picking up 10 of Mercyhurst's season-high 29 steals. She also had three assists.

The Lakers jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period and held Grove City to just a single goal in the final two periods to cruise to the win.

Chrissy Genian scored twice.

The win improved Mercyhurst's record to 5-7 on the season.

The Lakers return to action on March 21 with a road match at crosstown rival Gannon at 7:30 PM.
