Lakers Fall at Wolverine Invitational
March 16, 2007 ANN ARBOR, Mich. - A 4-0 deficit after the first period proved too much to overcome as Mercyhurst fell, 7-4, to Gannon at the Wolverine Invitational. The Golden Knights built a 4-0 lead after the first period, but the Lakers whittled it to a two-goal match by the end of the third, trailing just 6-4. But Mercyhurst could not get on the board in the final quarter and Gannon added an insurance score. Christine Somera scored two of the Lakers' four goals. Chrissy Genian and Carrie Willison had one goal apiece. Mercyhurst plays two matches on the tournament's second day. The Lakers face Cal Lutheran at 10:00 AM on Saturday, and Grove City at 3:50 PM. |
