Erie, Pa. - The Lakers were defeated by the #3 Hillsdale Chargers in three games on Friday night at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center, 30-22, 30-26, 30-22. Mercyhurst is now 6-18 overall and 1-15 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Hillsdale continues its undefeated streak with an overall record of 26-0 overall and 16-0 GLIAC.

In game one, the Lakers were strong out of the gates, building a lead 21-13 before the Chargers came back into the game to tie it at 21 all. The Chargers then took command of the match.

The Lakers were led by Lauren Kubinski with 13 kills and one dig. Jenna Matson had nine kills and ten digs. Cara Nelson led the team with 20 digs and Julia Butler had 25 assists.

The Chargers were led by Melissa Bartlett with ten kills and four digs. Megan Howard led the Charger with 25 digs and Stephanie Booms led with 27 assists.

Up next for the Lakers is Senior Day at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center against Wayne State at 4:00 pm.
