Lakers Swept By Findlay

Findlay, Ohio - Jenna Matson and Kristin Peterson had 10 kills each, but the Mercyhurst women's volleyball team lost to conference foe Findlay 30-18, 32-30, 30-23 Saturday. Findlay, which improved to 20-6 overall and 11-5 in the GLIAC, rolled to victories in the first and third games. Mercyhurst's best chance to extend the match came in game two, but the Lakers were unable to pull out the win. Matson added a team-high 10 digs to her 10 kills, while Julia Butler had 29 digs as the team's setter. As a team, Mercyhurst hit just .139, while Findlay was at .298. Mercyhurst fell to 6-17 overall and 1-14 in conference with the loss. The Lakers close the season this weekend by hosting undefeated No. 4 Hillsdale Friday at 7 p.m. and Wayne State Saturday at 4 p.m. |
