Lakers Struggles Continue Against Ferris State

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Lakers drop three games to Ferris State on Friday evening in Big Rapids, Michigan at the Ewigleben Sports Arena, 30-21, 30-23, 30-22. Mercyhurst is now 6-11 overall and 1-8 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). The Bulldogs are now 14-3 overall and 6-2 in the GLIAC.

Christine Nisbet led the Lakers with a .412 hitting percentage (8-for-17), two aces, three digs, and one block assist to tally 10.5 points. Jenna Matson had nine kills, 14 digs, and two block assists for 10 points.

The Bulldogs were led by Karla White with a .650 hitting percentage (13-for-20), five aces, one dig, and three block assists for a total of 19.5 points. Lindsay Tay and Kristy Gilchrist also had ten kills a piece.

Ferris State held Mercyhurst to only 26 kills, 51 digs, and three total blocks in the match while Ferris State totaled 44 kills, 50 digs, and eight total blocks.

Up next for the Lakers is another conference match at Grand Valley State on Saturday, September 30 at 4pm.
