Lakers Bow to Undefeated Hillsdale 3-0

Hillsdale, Mich. - The Lakers bowed to the Chargers in three games, 30-14, 30-17, 30-27 in the match Saturday afternoon in Hillsdale, Michigan. The Lakers fall to 6-8 overall and 1-5 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). The Chargers remain undefeated, 14-0 overall and 5-0 in the GLIAC.

For the Lakers, Megan Fargo led the team with seven kills and one block assist for 7.5 points. With 6.5 points, Jenna Matson had five kills, one ace, four digs, and one block assist. Defensively, the Lakers were led by Cara Nelson with nine digs.

Taryn Rudland led the Chargers with 13.5 points, nine kills two assists, one ace, two digs, and seven block assists. Also leading the Chargers was Melissa Bartlett with nine kills, ten digs, and one block assist for 9.5 points.

The Lakers look to get back into the win column on Friday, September 22 at home against conference foes Findlay to kick off Homecoming weekend at Mercyhurst.
