Houghton, Mich. - Mercyhurst falls to Michigan Tech in three, 30-19, 30-17, 30-28, in Houghton, Michigan on Sunday afternoon. The Lakers fell to 6-6 overall and 1-3 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Confernce (GLIAC). The Huskies improved to 6-5 overall and 2-1 in the GLIAC.

The Huskies hit .250 for the match while the Lakers only hit .090.

For the Lakers, Lauren Kubinski led the team offensively with 12 kills and one block assist and helped defensively with nine digs. Kristin Peterson had 11 kills and three digs. Jenna Matson led the team defensively with 14 digs and contributed eight digs.

Kaari Nevanen and Kelly Jorgensen led the Huskies with ten kills a piece. Nevanen contributed two aces, four digs, and one block assist. Jorgensen had one block solo and two block assists.

The Lakers next match is a road trip this coming weekend. On Friday, September 15th is at Wayne State at 7pm and Saturday, September 16th at Hillsdale at 2pm.
