Bay City, Mich. - Mercyhurst College senior softball player Jen Feret was named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week. Feret went 3-0 in the circle, leading the team to a 5-1 week that vaulted the Lakers into a tie for second in the GLIAC standings.

In 21 innings, Feret struck out 21 batters, allowing just two earned runs, to pick up three victories. She allowed just 10 hits and had two complete games as Mercyhurst swept rival Gannon and Lake Superior State, while splitting with Saginaw Valley State, a team ranked No. 4 in the region.

Feret started the week by scattering seven hits over seven innings and allowing just one run in a 4-1 victory over Gannon. She came back with a complete game two-hit performance in a 5-1 win over Saginaw Valley State. She finished off the week with a complete game one-hit shutout of Lake Superior State.

On the year, Feret ranks fifth in the GLIAC with a 1.38 ERA and is tied for fourth with 107 strikeouts.
