Feret's Huge Day Results In Split With Alma

Feb. 27, 2007

Box Score

Fort Myers, Fla. - Jen Feret had five extra base hits, including three homeruns, as the Mercyhurst softball team split a pair of games in Fort Myers, Fla. Tuesday. The Lakers lost to Augustana in the opener 14-6 before Feret threw a four-hitter to garner a 9-1 victory over Alma.

Feret had a monstrous game in the opener, hit three homers and driving in four runs, but Augustana's bats were better in a 14-6 victory. Kim Griffin took the loss for Mercyhurst.

In the second game, Feret took to the hill and struck out five, while allowing just four hits. She also added a double and a triple, driving home two more runs as the Lakers beat Alma 9-1. In all, the Lakers pounded out 14 hits, led by junior Erin Ratajczak's 4-for-4 performance.

Now 3-3 on the year, Mercyhurst will be back in action Wednesday, when the Lakers play Florida Gulf Coast in a doubleheader beginning at 5:00 p.m.
