Charleston, W.Va. - Four different players scored goals and the Mercyhurst defense shut down Charleston as the Lakers bounced back from their second loss of the year to defeat the Golden Eagles 4-0 Sunday.

Maria Amicone had a goal and an assist, while Christine Rehnert, Lisa Casement and Sarah Powell added goals as well. Rebecca Heintzman made four saves in goal to pick up her sixth shutout of the season.

Mercyhurst outshot Charleston 14-3 in the first half but had just a 1-0 lead at the break. In the second half, Mercyhurst held a 13-6 advantage in shots and scored three times to break the game open.

Charleston falls to 6-6-1 with the loss, while Mercyhurst improves to 12-2 overall. The Lakers will move back into GLIAC play as the squad plays at Northwood Sunday at noon.
