Position:
Assistant Coach

Anne Dinshah has been the assistant coach for Mercyhurst men's and women's rowing since October 2002.

During 2006-07 Dinshah coached the women, a young team which enjoyed new ideas in cross-training and mental training. In a year noted for achieving goals both on and off the water, the women rose to challenges each week including the varsity eight defeating Eastern Michigan to capture third place at the MACRA Championships while the frosh four turned in a gutsy second place finish.

Typically, Dinshah coaches frosh/novice in the fall, then shares in coaching responsibilities for the men's and women's teams in the winter and spring. Mercyhurst men's varsity four won the 2006 ECAC National Invitational Regatta with a course record of 6:37.51. Mercyhurst women's rowing team was the national runner-up at the 2005 NCAA Division II Championships. Mercyhurst men's varsity eight won the petite final at the 2005 Dad Vail Regatta and the lightweight eight took second at the 2005 ECAC National Invitational Regatta.

Mercyhurst won the 2004 NCAA Division II Team Championship, placing first in the varsity women's eight and second in the four. At the 2004 ECAC National Invitational Regatta, the Mercyhurst men took second in both the lightweight eight and varsity four.

Dinshah has a variety of coaching experience and knowledge. She was the head men's crew coach and women's rigger at the University of Central Florida. The men earned second place overall at the 2002 FIRA Championships and combined with the women for first place overall.

As an assistant coach at Wisconsin during the first years of their lightweight women's program, Dinshah focused on building the program as the novice lightweight coach. Wisconsin placed third in the varsity light four at the 1996 National Championships with an all-freshmen lineup. Wisconsin women won the overall team 1996 National Championship.

Dinshah earned her master of education in sport administration from the University of Texas at Austin (1995) and interned with the University of Washington women's crew.

At the University of Notre Dame, Dinshah rowed and played water polo all four years while graduating with a B.A. in American studies in 1991. She started coaching rowing at Notre Dame in 1992.

Dinshah is the author of Healthy Hearty Helpings, a vegetarian cookbook. She is currently building her second cabin and learning to wrestle. Dinshah won the novice women's event at the 2007 New Jersey Beach Wrestling Championships.
