Haggerty Adds Another All-American Award

June 3, 2008

Baltimore, Md. - Mercyhurst junior attack Breanna Haggerty added another award to her postseason credentials as she was named a first team All-American by Inside Lacrosse. Haggerty has already been named first team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and www.womenslacrosse.com.

Haggerty posted 75 goals and 23 assists in 2008 and her scoring average is the third highest in NCAA Division II history. She set program records for goals and points in a season and is the program's career leader in both stats with 170 goals and 242 points.

A consistent threat in every contest, Haggerty has scored at least three goals in an astounding 23 consecutive games and has posted at least one goal in 40 straight games. She was named the NCAA Division II/Nike Player of the Week after scoring nine goals and adding two assists in an 18-3 victory over then-No. 9 Queens. She was also the womenslacrosse.com Player of the Week following that victory.

Haggerty led Mercyhurst to its best season in program history in 2008 as the Lakers went 12-3, including nine consecutive victories during one stretch.
