May 29, 2008
Erie, Pa. - Mercyhurst College junior attacker Breanna Haggerty was named Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) First Team All-American this week after leading the country in goals per game in 2008. Mercyhurst's all-time scoring leader, Haggerty is the first Laker to be named an All-American since Jennifer Meyers in 2003. She was named the NCAA Division II/Nike Player of the Week after scoring nine goals and adding two assists in an 18-3 victory over then-No. 9 Queens. She was also the womenslacrosse.com Player of the Week following that victory and was recently named a First Team All-American by the same organization.
