Two Lakers Tabbed for IWLCA Senior All-Star Game
May 29, 2007 Erie, Pa. - Darci Doran and Jessica Hale of the Mercyhurst College women's lacrosse team are among just 37 Division II senior student-athletes selected to participate in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) 2007 STX Farewell Lacrosse Festival. Both Lakers will compete for the North Team, which will take on its counterparts from the South on Saturday, June 16 at United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Game time is set for 1:00 PM. Doran, a defender from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, started in all 12 games this season. She caused seven turnovers, had 11 draw controls, and tied for second on the team with 22 ground balls. In her career, she has played in 57 games and has scored two goals and tallied one assist for three points. Hale, a defender from Cleveland, Ohio, played in 11 games in 2007. She caused two turnovers, had eight ground balls, and two draw controls. In her career, she has played in 40 games and has scored four goals and tallied one assist for five points. The Lakers finished the 2007 season with a 7-5 overall record, losing all five games to Top 10 teams. The Lakers set the single game goal scoring record in the 2007 season by finishing the year with a 23-10 win over Presbyterian. |
