Lakers Remain No. 8 Heading Into Critical Weekend

Erie, Pa. - Heading into the toughest weekend of its season, the Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team remained No. 8 in the country, according to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) top 10 poll. The Lakers will play at No. 1 C.W. Post Friday and at No. 3 Adelphi Sunday. C.W. Post remained in the top spot in the IWLCA poll, garnering five first-place votes and 91 total points. With a loss in its season opener, West Chester tumbled from No. 2 to No. 4, allowing Limestone and Adelphi to each climb one spot to No. 2 and No. 3. Limestone received three first-place votes and 87 total points, while Adelphi had two first-place votes and 75 total points. Stonehill was No. 5, followed by Gannon and Lock Haven. Mercyhurst edged Queens and Belmont Abbey to remain at No. 8. The Lakers are 3-0 on the season but have not played since defeating Notre Dame (Ohio) 10-3 Feb. 26. |
