Erie, Pa. - Mercyhurst junior attacker Breanna Haggerty has been named as one of 44 women's lacrosse players on the 2008 Tewaaraton Trophy Watch List, presented annually to the top male and female lacrosse player at any level.

The Tewaaraton Trophy, which is the lacrosse version of the Heisman Trophy, is recognized as the pre-eminent lacrosse award honoring the top male and female varsity collegiate lacrosse player in the United States. Haggerty is listed alongside players at all three NCAA levels.

Haggerty was named Inside Lacrosse Second Team All-American in 2007 after posting 42 goals and 16 assists. After just two seasons, she already ranks seventh in school history with 95 career goals and fourth with 144 career points. She scored at least two goals in 11 of 12 games a year ago and has an active 24-game goal scoring streak entering the 2008 season.
