Box Score

Millersville, Pa. - The Lakers took Millersville to triple overtime before Mercyhurst scored the game winner in sudden-death overtime Saturday. The Lakers won 11-10 to improve their record to 2-2.

To begin the game, Angela Schumerth scored the first goal of the game to give the Lakers the lead. Going into halftime, the Lakers led 5-3.

At the end of regulation time, the score was tied at eight. In the first overtime period, Millersville scored first, but Mercyhurst's Kristen Toomey soon answered to tie the score at nine. In the second overtime, Stephanie Guiffrida scored with an assist by Kate Smith. Millersville answered with a goal to tie the score at ten.

In the sudden-death triple overtime, Schumerth scored the game winning goal, her third of the season, for the 11-10 win. Her hat trick was the first of her career.

Up next for the Lakers is their home opener against Slippery Rock on Monday, March 19th at 4:00 p.m.
