No. 7 Mercyhurst (21-6-3, CHA 6-1-1) and Wayne State (18-7-3, 6-1-1) get together again this weekend in Detroit with the Lakers looking for better results than the first two meetings in Erie earlier this month. The Warriors took three of a possible four points from the Lakers with a 5-4 win in overtime and a 2-2 overtime tie. Both teams are tied for first place in College Hockey America with 6-1-1 marks.

Wayne State's win on Friday, February 8, was its first ever against Mercyhurst, which leads the all-time series 31-1-3. Wayne State trailed for only three minutes in the two-game series. After an early Mercyhurst power play goal in the opener, the Warriors built a 4-1 lead before the Lakers rallied to force overtime. Wayne State led 2-0 in the third period of Saturday's game before Mercyhurst rallied again.

The Lakers will conclude regular season play the following weekend with a conference home-and-home series against Robert Morris. Wayne State ends regular season play with home games against CHA-rival Niagara.
