Mercyhurst Remains No. 7 in USA Today Poll

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The top nine teams remained unchanged in the latest USA Today/USA Hockey women's poll released today. Mercyhurst remained No. 7. CHA-rival Wayne State, tenth last week, dropped out and was replaced by Dartmouth. Mercyhurst swept Niagara 5-2 and 5-1 last weekend in Erie while the Warriors split a pair of contests with Robert Morris by identical 2-1 counts. Mercyhurst and Wayne State, tied for first in College Hockey America with identical 6-1-1 marks, will meet this weekend in Detroit. WSU defeated Mercyhurst for the first time ever two weeks ago (5-4, ot) and tied the Lakers 2-2 in overtime at the Ice Center. The games are scheduled Friday night at 7 and Saturday at 2.

The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
