Agosta Ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in Five National Categories

Erie, Pa. - Sophomore forward Meghan Agosta is ranked either first or second in five national categories today while freshman Jesse Scanzano was named College Hockey America (CHA) Rookie of the Week for the second straight time and fifth overall this season. The Lakers, 19-5-2 overall, are now tied for sixth in the latest USCHO.com Division I Women's Poll. Agosta is first, nationally, in shorthanded goals with seven, tied for first in both goals-per-game (1.38) and power play goals (9), second in points-per-game (2.23), and tied for second in game-winning goals with 8. In addition, she is 10th in assists-per-game with 0.85. Agosta extended her Mercyhurst record scoring streak to 20 games last weekend in 7-1 and 7-0 wins over visiting Quinnipiac. She also established a second Mercyhurst record with her seventh shorthanded goal of the season. She set the prior marks of 16 and 6, respectively, last season. Meanwhile, Scanzano continued her quest for conference Rookie of the Year with a four-point weekend against the Bobcats. She had an assist in Friday's 7-0 win and scored twice with an assist Saturday. She finished the two games with 13 shots on goal and a +4 plus/minus rating. The complete USCHO.com poll is as follows:
