Ravensburg, Germany - Junior forward Valerie Chouinard and sophomore winger Meghan Agosta combined for three goals and six assists as Team Canada opened play Thursday with a 13-2 rout of Russia at the 2008 European Air Canada Cup. Five Lakers, in all, are competing for Canada.

Team Canada led 2-0 after a period and 8-0 after forty minutes. Both Agosta and Chouinard had points in all three periods. Agosta finished with a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the second period, and two assists while Chouinrad totaled a goal and four helpers. Senior forward Stephanie Jones also contributed a goal and an assist while senior goaltender Laura Hosier went all the way for the win. She faced only ten shots while Team Canada peppered Russia with 38.

The tournament runs through Sunday, Jan. 6.
