Durham, NH - Mercyhurst got goals from four different players and 16 saves from junior Laura Hosier in turning back Boston College 4-0 Friday in the opening game of the annual New Hampshire Tournament. Boston College dropped to 9-2-1. The host Wildcats (13-1-1) then outscored Wayne State (5-8-0) 7-1 in the nightcap. The Lakers and Wildcats, each ranked 2nd or 3rd depending on the poll, will square off at 7:00pm Saturday in the tournament's finale.

Senior forward Stefanie Bourbeau scored the only goal Hosier would need in the first period when she collected her team-leading 11th of the season at 15:09. The Lakers had a 16-4 advantage in shots in the first twenty minutes.

Sophomore forward Valerie Chouinard extended the lead to 2-0 with a power play goal in the first minute of the second. It was the Matane, Quebec, native's 10th goal of the campaign and 8th with the skater advantage, tops on the team. Junior forward Stephanie Jones made it 3-0 a dozen minutes later with her fifth of the year and freshman sensation Meghan Agosta concluded the scoring with an unassisted shorthanded marker with just eight ticks remaining in the middle period. Mercyhurst owned a 33-9 advantage in shots through forty minutes.

Both teams played it close to the vest in the third with the Eagles having a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Mercyhurst won its fourth straight against the Eagles and improved to 4-1-0 lifetime. The Lakers owned a 36-16 advantage in shots in a contest that took only 1:54 to complete. For Hosier, it was her 11th win of the season and third shutout. Earlier blanking were registered against Dartmouth (1-0) and Providence (3-0), both at the Ice Center in late October.

Saturday's game against the Wildcats became even more important Friday as #1 Wisconsin lost 2-0 at Minnesota-Duluth. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 4-2-1 over Mercyhurst and defeated the Lakers 2-1 last season at home with a goal in the final minute of regulation.

Against Wayne State Friday, the Wildcats owned leads of 2-0 after a period and 5-0 after two before settling for the 7-1 verdict. UNH had a 37-19 advantage in shots including a 15-3 margin in the three-goal middle period.
