The Mercyhurst women's golf team finished eighth overall in the Ashland Invitational by shooting a 376 on day one and a 379 on day two. Caitlin Cummings led the way for the Lakers with rounds of 86 and 90 to finish tied for 28th overall.

After both days of team competition, University of Dayton finished in first with a combined 76 over par, followed by Ashland University (+93) and Alleghany College (+108). Jessica Slonaker of Gannon led the individual fields with scores of 81 and 78.

Following Cummings for Mercyhurst in the individual standings was Mattye Laurer (52), Alanna Kirwan (55), Arielle Chong (57), and Lauren Montebell (60).

The Lakers will return to the course Thursday in the Penn State Behrend invitational.
