Fogle Named Second Team All-American
Dec. 11, 2006 ERIE, Pa. - Kristen Fogle of the Mercyhurst College field hockey team picked up a pair of postseason honors recently. The freshman defender was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-American Second Team and was also an All-Rookie pick by Womensfieldhockey.com. Fogle shined as a freshman on the Laker defense that allowed 36 goals and shut out five opponents on the year. She also scored one goal - on a penalty shot - and added an assist in a win over Seton Hill. She is a Columbus, Ohio native. The Mercyhurst College field hockey team finished its season with a record of 7-8. The team closed its season on a strong note, however, winning five of its final eight games with four wins coming by shutout. The team also set or tied five school records in a 9-2 win over Houghton in the season finale. |
