Erie, Pa. - Mercyhurst forward Lauren MacEllven was named the Division II Player of the week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

MacEllven earned the distinction after turning in a hat trick in a victory over St. Francis (Pa.). MacEllven scored to give Mercyhurst 1-0 and 2-1 leads, then sealed the victory in overtime with her third goal, just 16 seconds into extra time.

The Lakers, 3-7, hit the road for three games this weekend. Mercyhurst faces Houghton on September 29, then Seton Hill on October 1, and Bellarmine on October 2.
