Washington, Pa. - Freshman midfielder Haley Brochu assisted on three Laker goals as Mercyhurst notched a 4-0 victory at Washington & Jefferson Wednesday evening at Cameron Stadium.

The Lakers (8-11) took a 1-0 lead three minutes into the contest as Brochu set up sophomore forward Erin Kelleher's goal.

Brochu then fed junior forward Lauren MacEllven for a goal at the 29:46 mark.

Senior midfielder Lindsay Jackson and freshman midfielder Alicia Guzzo scored second-half goals for the Lakers.

Junior goalie Julie Smith turned back two shots in 49 minutes to earn the win.

Junior goalie Heather Browne totaled a season-high 22 saves, including one on a penalty stroke, for the Presidents.

Washington & Jefferson concluded its 2005 season with a 6-13 overall record. Mercyhurst will end its season Saturday when it entertains St. Vincent College of Latrobe at 5:00 Pm at Tullio Field.
