Mercyhurst falls to C.W. Post

Brookville, N.Y. - Mercyhurst (2-3) lost to C.W Post (5-1) in field hockey Saturday afternoon. The loss is the Lakers second in a row. After a scoreless first half, the Pioneers got on the board first off of a penalty stroke from the stick of Elaine Williams in the 53rd minute. The Lakers would tie the game five minutes later when Courtney Monin scored her second goal of the season. The game remained tied until Pioneer forward Amber Limanni scored the game winning goal with just under three minutes to play. The Lakers were outshot 19-14. Laker goal keeper Julie Smith registered 9 saves in a losing effort. The Lakers look to get back in the win column tomorrow afternoon when they travel to East Stroudsburg with a 1:00 start. |
