Allensdale, Mich. - The Mercyhurst women's basketball team shot 1-for-13 on three pointers in the second half to give Grand Valley State enough breathing room to seal a 70-54 win Thursday. Mercyhurst did record a season-low nine turnovers in the game.

Grand Valley State and Mercyhurst battled for most of the first half with Grand Valley holding the largest lead at nine with a little over four minutes left in the period. Stephanie Prischak scored 16 points in the first half and, three Grand Valley players shared 10 points a piece.

In the second half, Mercyhurst could not find an offensive rhythm, shooting 28 percent from the field and eight percent on three-pointers. Mercyhurst's cold streak turned into the definitive game-breaker, allowing Grand Valley to lead by as many as 24 points twice in the second half.

Prischak ended with 18 points and five rebounds. Following Prischak offensively for Mercyhurst was Samantha Loadman with 11 points and four rebounds. Stevie Spetoskey put up nine points and seven rebounds, while Amy Achesinski managed eight points and seven rebounds.
