Ishpeming, Mich. - Mercyhurst finished 11th in the 11 team men's field at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships at Northern Michigan.

Matt Deragon was the top finisher for the Lakers, finishing in 50th place overall with a time of 28:44.6 on the 8K course. Kenneth Foster took 73rd in 29:46.2. Kurtis Billig placed 85th in the 135-runner field with a time of 30:18.3. Nathanael Smith was the next runner across the line, taking 30:23.5 to complete the course. Kevin Szczepanski finished the scoring for Mercyhurst in 98th place with a time of 30:38.3.

Grand Valley came up two places shy of a sweep, tallying 17 points in claiming the team title. GVSU's Nate Peck was the individual winner in 26:23.0.

Mercyhurst's 301 points were just three short of 10th place. That spot went to crosstown rival Gannon, with 298 points.

The Lakers now prepare for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on November 5, at Ferris State.
