Oct. 6, 2007
Syracuse, N.Y. - With junior Kenneth Foster leading the way, the Mercyhurst men's cross country team earned a second-place finish Saturday afternoon at the four-team Le Moyne Invitational. Foster, a week removed from a win at the Race at the Park, posted a time of 27:59 to take second overall, finishing behind only Jake McAndrew of Le Moyne, who won with a time of 27:21. As a team, the Lakers finished behind host Le Moyne, which had four runners place in the top eight. Mercyhurst trailed the winners by just five points (31-36), but still landed four runners in the top 10. Behind Foster, freshman Ronny Whiting took fourth and junior Mike Humphrey placed ninth starting a string of four Mercyhurst finishers. Freshman Christopher Strohm grabbed 10th, junior Derek Hoerner finished in 11th and sophomore Tomas Bolger earned 12th. In all, 12 Lakers competed in the event and 10 finished in the top 25.
