Erie, Pa. - After breaking the school's all-time scoring record, Mercyhurst sophomore Andrew Schonhoff was named Collegiate Water Polo Association Player of the Week for the Southern Divison, Western Region.

Schonhoff led the Lakers a pair of wins, helping Mercyhurst extend its all-time best winning streak to eight in a row. Before the 2006 season, Mercyhurst had never won more than seven games in a season.

In an 18-17 win over Gannon, Schonhoff had five goals to tie the all-time scoring record with 69 and added two steals, two drawn ejections and an assist. He then broke the all-time record with three goals against Washington and Jefferson, while posting two assists, two drawn ejections and a steal.

Mercyhurst, now 8-3 on the year, will host Penn State Behrend tonight at 7 p.m.
