Mercyhurst's 10 Game Win Streak Ends Against Fordham
Oct. 14, 2006 New London, Conn. - Mercyhurst defeated Connecticut College 8-4 to increase its winning streak to ten games Saturday morning at Connecticut College. The Lakers then fell to Fordham in their second game today 13-12.
The Lakers were without Jorge Montero and Oscar Calderon, who missed the games due to injury. Despite that, the Lakers still made things interesting.
Against Connecticut College, Kevin Riordan, Zach Bell, and Kane Ashton tallied two goals a piece and Riordan and Bell had one assist a piece. Jarrett Pivarunas and Andrew Schonhoff scored one goal and two assists each. Chad Ward had one assist and two steals. Pivarunas had two steals while Trevor McIlwaine, Bell, Kevin Weishaar, and Ashton each had one. Kyle Bogucki had seven saves in the game with only four goals against.
Against Fordham, Riordan, Ashton, and Schonhoff each scored three goals. Riordan had four assists and McIlwaine had two assist and two steals. Bell had two goals in the game with two steals. Pivarunas had one goal and three steals. Ashton had three steals. Bogucki made eleven saves in the game.
The Lakers are now 10-4 overall and look to get back in the win column tomorrow, Sunday, October 15th against Iona at 1pm at Connecticut College. |
