Fordham Edges Mercyhurst, 9-8

Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham broke an 8-8 tie with the fourth quarter's only goal as the Rams edged Mercyhurst 9-8 Saturday night. The Lakers dropped their sixth straight match as their record slipped to 3-9. Mercyhurst got a pair of goals each from Kyle Bogucki, Jorge Momtero, and Oscar Calderson and single tallies from Kevion Riordan and Andrew Schonhoff. Fordham led 2-1 after a quarter and 6-5 at halftime before the Lakers fought back to square things at 8-8 after 21 minutes. Patrick Staab and Jeff Tullis both saw time in goal. Staab played into the third quarter and allowed eight goals before being replaced. Tullis finished the third but allowed Fordham's ninth goal in the fourth quarter. The duo combined for eight saves. The Lakers will return to action next Thursday when they entertain Penn State Behrend.
