Lakers Win 6th Straight Against W&J

Sept. 23, 2006

Washington, Pa. - The Lakers win sixth straight game in arow against the Washington & Jefferson Presidents with a score of 13-11. The Lakers are now 6-3 on the year.

The Lakers took the lead in the second quarter with a score of 6-5. In the third, the Presidents took the lead 9-8. In the final quarter, Mercyhurst cinched the lead with five goals to end the game at 13-11.

Oscar Calderon and Zach Bell led the Lakers with three goals and two assists a piece. Kane Ashton and Andrew Schonoff added two goals a piece and one and two assists, respectively. Jorge Montero, Chad Ward, and Jarrett Pivarunas each added a goal. Montero had two assists, while Trevor McIlwaine had one.

Kyle Bugucki had nine saves in the game with eight goals against. Kevin Riordan had three saves and two goals against.

The Lakers play Penn State Behrend in an exhibition match at 5:30pm today. They will continue play next week on Saturday, September 30th against Gannon at 11am.
