Princeton, N.J. - Fordham opened a 5-2 lead at halftime and went on from there to defeat Mercyhurst 10-6 at the Princeton Invitational. It was the opening match of the season for the Lakers.

Freshman Andrew Schonhoff made his collegiate debut with a four-goal game. Freshman Zach Bell scored the other two goals for Mercyhurst.

Senior goaltender Patrick Staab was credited with one save.
