PRINCETON, N.J. -

Andrew Schonoff scored a total of 10 goals as the Lakers defeated Iona, 10-7, and Queens (N.Y.), 15-6, at the Princeton Invitational.  With the wins, Mercyhurst has won three straight to improve to 3-3 on the season.

Schonoff led Mercyhurst with four goals as the Lakers erased a 4-3 halftime deficit to beat the Gaels, 10-7.

Iona led 4-3 after two periods, but the Lakers outscored Iona 7-3 in the final two quarters for the win. 

Oscar Calderon scored three goals and added three steals.  Kane Ashton had a pair of scores.  Schonoff added a pair of drawn ejections.

Kyle Bogucki had six saves in goal for the Lakers.

Mercyhurst 15, Queens (N.Y.) 6
The Lakers shut out Queens (N.Y.) in the first period to cruise to a 15-6 win in the second match of the day at the Princeton Invitational.

Schonoff matched Queens all by himself, netting six scores.  He also had an assist and a steal in the match.  Jorge Montero scored three times and added an assist.  Trevor McIlwaine had a pair of goals and helped on another.

Kevin Riordan had two assists to go along with two steals, a goal and a drawn ejection.  Kane Ashton had three steals.

Kyle Bogucki made 10 saves.

The Lakers also played an exhibition match against the Pacific B team, and fell 11-4.

Mercyhurst will look for its fourth straight win with a match against Fordham at 8:00 AM on Sunday, September 10.
