Columbus, Ohio - Mercyhurst fell to No. 6 Ohio State University in three matches, 30-25, 30-23, 30-28 on Friday night in Columbus, Ohio. The Lakers finish the regular season at 2-22 overall and 0-12 in the Midwestern Intercolliagete Volleyball Association. The Buckeyes finished regular season play at 22-3 overall and 10-2 in the MIVA.

The Lakers were led by Marcus Dos Santos with nine kills, four digs, and two block assists. Tim Wagner had eight kills, one ace, five digs, and one block assist. Dave Newman had seven kills and Mike Palaschak had six. David Hatten had 28 assists.

Dan Meske led the Buckeyes with 11 kills, one ace, seven digs, and one block assist. Layne Dreven had nine kills, one dig, and two total blocks. Matthew Hankey had eight kills and John Albertson had seven.

Mercyhurst will begin postseason play Saturday when the Lakers travel to Indiana for the MIVA Quarterfinals. The Lakers will play IPFW at 7:00 p.m.
