Chicago, Ill. - Lakers fell to a relentless Loyola University Chicago team, 30-13, 30-22, 30-21 in the second Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Assocation (MIVA) match of the season for each team. The Lakers are now 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the MIVA. The Ramblers are now 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the MIVA.

The Ramblers led wire-to-wire in games one and three. In game two, the Lakers jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a kill by Mike Palaschak. A few unforced errors by the Ramblers gave the Lakers a 3-1 advantage. The Lakers committed a few unforced errors give turn the lead over to Loyola who never relinquished it again.

Jeff Hartman led the Lakers with four kills and three digs. Tim Wagner had three kills and two digs.

Hartman, Bryan Ritter, Palaschak, and Dave Newman each contributed a block.

For the Ramblers, Nick Lamoureux led the team with .857 hitting percentage (6-for-7). Ian Anderson had five kills and Krisjanis Berzins had four.

Loyola out-hit the Lakers .586 to .179.

The Lakers travel to D'Youville on Thursday, January 25th looking for their first win of the season.
