Five Lakers named All-GLIAC

Bay City, Mich. - Five members of the Mercyhurst men's soccer team were named to the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) teams in voting conducted by the conference coaches.

Jason Pedra earned a selection to the first team, with Zach Hiltner, Kyle Jackson, Andy Tait and Daniel Mudd earning spots on the second team.

Pedra, a junior midfielder, earned his third All-GLIAC honor after finishing third on the team with 10 points. In 19 games, he had a team-high four assists and three goals, two of which were game-winners. He earned GLIAC Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman and was named to the first team a year ago. For his career, Pedra has tallied 22 goals and 12 assists for 56 points. He is also a two-time pick to the All-Great Lakes Region team.

Hiltner also made his third All-GLIAC team in his career. The junior midfielder was second on the team with 11 points on five goals and one assist in 18 games played. He has 13 career goals and five career helpers for 31 points.

A sophomore midfielder, Jackson earned his first all-conference nod after leading the Lakers with eight goals and 17 points. Two of his scores were game winners. In his two year career, he has 13 goals, eight assists and 34 points.

Junior Andy Tait appeared in all 20 game for Mercyhurst and made his second All-GLIAC team. The midfielder has one assist in his career, registered in 2005.

Mudd make his first appearance on the All-GLIAC squad after a very impressive rookie season. The freshman played every second in goal for Mercyhurst, making 76 saves and notching six shutouts. He stopped 76 percent of all shots taken at him.

Mercyhurst concluded its season with a mark of 8-8-4 and 3-3-4 in the GLIAC.
