ERIE, Pa. - Mercyhurst scored four goals in the first 38:30 and stretched its string to 364:21 without allowing a score in a 4-0 win over NAIA foe Myers.

It was the fourth straight win for Mercyhurst, with all four victories coming by shutout. The last time the Lakers shut out four opponents in succession was in 1986, 20 years ago.

Tyler Emerick scored what proved to be the game-winner, his fourth score of the year, in the eighth minute. Kyle Jackson crossed the ball to the left side, where Emerick popped a shot from five yards for the 1-0 lead.

Jackson picked up his second assist of the game with a helper on Kurt Young's fifth goal of 2006 at the 14:47 mark.

Jason Pedra stretched it 3-0 in the 18th minute when he took a shot that deflected off Mustang goalkeeper Jeremie Buehner.

Shotaro Itaya scored his first goal of the season at 38:30 with an assist from David Moehle the first of his career.

Daniel Mudd played the first 27:10 in goal for the Lakers before being relieved by Shane Hoyne. Hoyne played the final 62:50 and was credited with four saves.

Mudd, who made one save in the game, had played every minute in goal before being lifted in the lopsided affair. Mudd played 2391:13 consecutive minutes to start his career.

The Lakers outshot the Mustangs 33-11 in the contest, including 26-3 in the first half.

Buehner made five saves.

Mercyhurst will look for its fifth straight win on Friday, September 15 when the Lakers travel to Southern Indiana for a 5:00 PM kickoff.
