Boston, Mass. - Mercyhurst's men's rowing entrant at the Head of the Charles Regatta placed sixth out of 42 boats in the Collegiate Eights race Sunday. The Lakers' time of 15:35.992 placed Mercyhurst among the top teams. It was the best finish for the team at the Regatta in the 36-year history of the rowing program.

Trinity College won the event with a time of 14:58.705, followed by Wesleyan University and Hobart College. Grand Valley State and Queens College of Canada placed fourth and fifth. Mercyhurst edged out Brock University and the University of Rochester.

A year ago, Mercyhurst placed 18th out of 59 entrants in the same event with a time of 16:04.163.

Mercyhurst will complete its fall season by competing at the Speakmon Memorial Saturday in Columbus, Ohio at 8:00 a.m.
