Erie, Pa. - The Mercyhurst College athletic department will be honoring the 2007 men's lacrosse team with a hot buffet brunch during this year's Homecoming Weekend. The brunch will take place on Saturday, September 29th from 10:30 a.m.-noon at the Marriot Courtyard Ambassador Room.

Last year's team finished the year with a record of 13-2 overall. The Lakers won the East Coast Conference by posting a perfect 6-0 mark. The team also advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship game for the first time in school history, losing to Le Moyne 6-5. The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association named five Mercyhurst men's lacrosse players All-Americans. Seniors Bryon Lindner, Adam Mulherin and Joe Thon were named to the first team, sophomore Jason Lashomb was named to the second team, and senior Mike Grizanti was named honorable mention. Coach Chris Ryan was named USILA Coach of the Year for the second time in his career and was one of three local Champions For Education Coaches of the Year.

The brunch is open to the public and tickets are available for $12 per person. Please contact athletic secretary Elizabeth Morgan by phone at 814-824-2228 to RSVP as soon as possible. Payment will be accepted at the door. Special speakers will be on hand to address the team and fans.
