New York, N.Y. - Former Mercyhurst College men's lacrosse player Mike McLellan is one of 14 players on the New York Titans Protected Player List for the upcoming National Lacrosse League (NLL) Expansion Draft.

As a forward, McLellan tied for fourth among all NLL rookies with 44 points in 2006. He had 26 goals and 18 assists on the season. At Mercyhurst, McLellan scored at least one goal in every game of his two-year career with the Lakers. As a senior, he had a team-high 47 goals, 13 assists and 60 points in 2005. He finished his career with 90 goals, 21 assists and 111 points.

Each NLL team was allowed to protect 14 players for the July 31 expansion draft, in which Boston will be allowed to select one unprotected player from each of the league's 13 returning clubs.

The New York Titans wrapped up their inaugural season in the NLL in April 2007. The team split its eight home games but finished the season with a 4-12 overall record.
