Lakers Stay No. 1 For Third Straight Week
April 23, 2007 Erie, Pa. - The Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team picked up another first place vote and remained the No. 1 team in Division II according to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). The Lakers sit at the top of the poll for the third straight week. At 9-1 on the year, Mercyhurst received eight of 10 first place votes for 198 total points, one more than a week ago. New York Tech remains No. 2 in the country, getting one first place vote and 189 total points. Those two teams will play each other at Tullio Field Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Le Moyne, the only team to defeat Mercyhurst this year, remains No. 3 in the poll, getting one first place vote and 182 total points. Bryant, C.W. Post and Dowling remained in their spots 4-6 from a week ago. Limestone moved up to No. 7, while Molloy dropped a spot to No. 8 after a 17-9 loss to Mercyhurst Sunday. Pace remained No. 9 and Saint Michael's College entered the poll at No. 10.
